Young Pioneers Summer Camp

The Young Pioneers Summer Camp is designed so students learn by participating in hands-on activities. Students will learn basic frontier skills, team building, self–reliance, and creative problem solving. These skills were manifested in the men and women on the American Frontier…men and women like Daniel and Rebecca Boone. Activities Include but not limited to: Team Building Activities, Split Rails and Rive Shingles, Journaling,Rope Work, Weaving, Blacksmithing, Fire Building, Land Measurements Camp is held June 28- July 1 from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Cost: $150 per participant.

Home School Day - May - Forest Education and Hike

Home School Day - Forest Education Students will learn to identify native trees and plants using a dichtomous key and read the rings of a tree. We will then take this knowledge outdoors to see what we learned. Home School Day - April - Backyard Habitats

Find out what animals need to live and what you can do to help wildlife. Students will play a fun habitat game to help them fully understand that destroyng a habitat has negative effects on it's inhabitants. If time permits we will also make a pinecone bird feeder for the students to take home to their own backyard habitats. Take Me There: Passport!

There’s a number of activities going on Saturday, July 31: Pick up your MMCM passport for future “virtual” travel. Every child gets a Kids Map of the United States provided by Marathon. Nominate your favorite destination to be used for a future theme. Saturn? Timbuktu? Europe? China? North Dakota? The possibilities are endless! Bring your passport back every time you visit and get a sticker to add to it. When your passport is full, turn it in for a chance to win a great prize package!
