Camp Dovewood Christian Camp for Girls: first session June 13th-June 26th

Let me introduce you to the Storer Outdoor School. The Storer Outdoor School is a hands-on total immersion learning center located at YMCA Storer Camps in Jackson, Michigan . Storer is a mission focused Christian camp. “The Great Outdoors” makes science and other curriculum come alive and significantly more relevant for each student. Independent studies show OEE programs raise science scores by as much as 27%. OEE has a positive effect on student achievement and behavior. Multiple studies confirm that the positive effect across all curriculums is measurable and significant.

Amy Fuller from the American Red Cross-Saginaw County Chapter will be at the MMCM to demonstrate basic CPR for kids.

Vern Calhoun from Unique Gym in Saginaw will energize our guests with fun dancing and exercise to great music. Come join in on the fun!

Chauncey Ranch YMCA Summer Overnight Equestrian Camp Open House. Meet the staff, tour the facilities, participate in a few activities such as climbing tower or archery. BBQ lunch provided. Take a tour of camp, meet the camp staff, and participate in a few activities such as climbing tower or archery. You can also register for summer camp sessions upon arrival. Ponds, Puddles, and Creeks is probably our most popular program! Your guide will take you to the Cattail Creek by a tractor pulled hayride. We all get into the creek and using nets we catch as many creatures as we can find! We then identify what we have caught and discuss their habitats and life cycle. Wear old tennis shoes that you can get wet and a dry pair of socks and shoes for later. We will also visit and feed the animals! Cost is $7.00. Parents and children under 2 are free. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED! Feel free to bring your lunch and enjoy your picnic by our pond!

The educational program today is called The Wonderful World of Worms. It will begin at 10:30 and conclude by 12:30. The guide will teach about the importance of composting. We will also talk about the role worms play in composting. The anatomy of a worm will be discussed and why they are such great composters! Bring some food scraps in a small baggie as we will demonstrate how to build a compost pile. Feeding the farm animals and a hayride are also included. Everyone will pot a plant in our compost soil to take home! Cost is $7.00. Parents and children under 2 are free.
