Learn about the life cycle of a milkshake at Volkening Heritage Farm! High summer is hay-making time, and visitors to this unique event can watch the draft horses mowing the hayfiled or jump in and help with the harvest. Visitors may also help churn butter, make farmer's cheese or milk a cow. Homemade ice cream completes the experience! This event also includes hayrides, kid's crafts, grilled food and cool refreshments.

Backyards for Nature Fair & Native Plant Sale

Discover simple ways to GO GREEN in your home landscape! A large variety of native shrubs, wildflowers and grasses suitable for the home landscape will be for sale throughout the day. In addition, garden experts will be available to provide information on how and where to use native plants, home composting, rain gardens and more.
