Manatee Celebration Day 2011

The City of Tarpon Springs presents the Second Annual Manatee Celebration Day on January 22 from 10 am to 4 pm. A full day of educational and fun activities will take place in the Heritage Museum and surrounding Craig Park, the winter home of a large number of manatees in Spring Bayou.

Home School Day - November - Bats

For: Home schooled children in grades K through 8th. Time: 10:30am - 11:30am When: November 15th, 2010 Where: 6300 Cochran Mill Rd. , Palmetto, GA 30268 Cost: $5 per participant (including parents) Cash or check only. November’s topic will be Bats. Students will have the opportunity to learn about the traits and habitats of bats from around the world including the 16 species found right here in Georgia. They will be able to visit with our resident fruit bats as well.

FREE KIDS’ NIGHT

Kids are free between 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm $1 parking between 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm (Houston St./Mid-City garage on the corner of Navarro and College St.) Children must be accompanied by an adult. One adult may accompany up to four children.

Handwriting Without Tears Program

The Handwriting Without Tears Program® is intended for children between the ages of 6 and 11. The program will focus on a combination of print and cursive, depending on the child’s age, school expectancy and the parents’ wishes. Each 60-minute class will incorporate games and sensory-motor activities affecting handwriting abilities, as well as guided handwriting practice. Correct letter formation, letter reversal, letter sizing, spacing, letter alignment and pencil grip will all be taught to children and their parents.
