What is archaeology? Why is it important to us? What do archaeologists find here in Saginaw County? Discover history through many interesting artifacts as you take a tour of the Castle Museum’s History on the Move mobile classroom and museum that teaches students about archaeology in Saginaw County. Step into our archaeology “lab” and find out what students all around Saginaw County have already discovered.

Join us for Healthy Kids Day at the Fort Bend Family YMCA, located at the corner of Cartwright Rd and Colonial Lakes Blvd. in Missouri City. (We are one block east of Dulles Ave. and one block north of Hwy 6). Healthy Kids Day is the nation's largest health day, bringing children and families together and providing the education, activities and experiences that teach good health and foster connections through fitness, sports, fun, healthy habits and shared interests.

The African American Golf Exhibition

The African American Golf Exhibition marries African American culture and the sport of golf. This exhibition, through memorabilia and artwork, will celebrate and recognize the feat of revolutionary African American caddies in the world of golf such as Master Caddie Freddie Bennett and golfers such as Jim Dent and Lee Elder among others, who sought to overcome prejudices while inspiring hope. The artwork of local golf artist Samuel Barnes will also be on exhibition. Opening Reception is Monday, April 4 at 6:00 PM. Admission is as follows: Adults $5, Seniors/Military $3, and children $2.

Brain Balance Center Parent Informational Lecture on the Thursday March 31st 6:30 pm. Additional April lectures include: Tues. April 12th at 12:00 and Thurs.April 28th at 6:30 Brain Balance Achievement Centers are for families with children struggling with ADHD, Learning and Processing Disorders, Dyslexia, Autism, Aspergers, PDD,OCD and those with sensory issues. We are a supplemental learning center that uses specific physcial, sensory, motor and academic exercises as well as dietary changes to correct the fundamental problem which is a Functional Disconnection Syndrome.

"Look Back" for Homeschoolers

Who said history can't be fun? Using the Village's restored antique buildings as their learning laboratory, children will get a chance to "Look Back" in time as they are guided through a variety of hands-on activities which were part of the 19th century child's workday: candle dipping, blacksmithing, shoe pegging, textile arts, and quill pen calligraphy. Also, be sure to visit the Schoolmaster/Schoolmistress for a lesson in our one-room schoolhouse. "Look Back" is just one of several educational programs Storrowton offers during the school year.
