2nd Annual Fullerton Arts Legacy Awards at the Plummer Auditorium
Last year the Muckenthaler partnered with the Fullerton College Foundation on the Dick Dale concert; this year, we collaborate with the Children's Repertory Theatre (FCRT) to honor Vicki Shindele, as our Legacy Award winner. A fourth generation Southern Californian, Schindele has taught musical theater to thousands of Fullerton elementary students. Founder and co-director of FCRT, Schindele directed several hundred junior.

Ballet Folklorico Monte Alban
Grupo Folklorico Monte Alban preserves Mexican culture through its regional folk dances and different types f music and song, including Mariachi music, huapangos with African, Spanish, and Indigenous influences, polkas; and danzones with Cuban origins. This group will present this special concert in honor of Mexican Independence Day. Half of all ticket sales will go to benefit this great community youth resource.

Gallery Opening Reception: Open Your Eyes/Abre Los Ojos
To celebrate Fullerton's Sister City of Morelia, Mexico, guest curator and celebrated artist Jose Lozano selects revered Mexican and Mexican-American art centered on the state of Michoan from private collections in Southern California.
Lisa Haley- Zydeco
Lisa Haley, a Grammy-nominated fiddler, dancer, vocalist, songwriter, serves up heart-moving Louisiana Bayou rhythms, traditional stylings, and original songs. She has long been considered the Queen of California's Zydeco scene.

Grupo Falso Baiano
Grupo Falso Baiano offers a window into the history and diverse culture of Brazil. The group has worked with the Pasadena Pops, Around the World Music Program, Young Audiences fo Northern CA, and Youth in Arts, to bring choro (a Brazilian music style, very popular in the 1920s and 1930s) and Brazilian music to students throughout California. This is Zoot's pick for best new artistic find for 2012 and he is happy to share them with you!

Incendio
Balancing rock-style enthusiasm and energy with a tremendous technical and improvisational sophistication, Incendio explores jazz, Celtic, middle-eastern, and electronica. Their romantic and passionate playing takes Spanish gypsy guitar music to new and uncharted artistic levels. $20 Non-member. $16 Student/Senior. $10 Member
Hillbillies Reunion
For the first time ever, the many "Hillbillies" of Disneyland's Golden Horseshoe Saloon reunite in a special event. Hosted by the world's premier solo mandolin player, Evan Marshall, the show will be a one-of-a-kind ruckus. $10 Member. $16 Student/Senior. $20 Non-member.
Acrylic Painting Workshop
A fun workshop for those with little or no painting experience. The emphasis will be on enjoyment in painting, finding confidence and inspiration to begin or continue through development of basic painting skills. All materials provided. Pre-registration required one week prior to class.
Students will be led through a landscape painting (not pictured), learning winter landscape painting techniques(can view sample paintings on website). Taught by Kathy Cassell, artist of 15 years.
