They Chose Me! is a musical spotlighting the subject of adoption, as seen through the eyes of the kids. This timely show explores adoption and foster care today and speaks to those who already are or might like to be involved. The funny, heartwarming and inspirational story reflects on foster care and adoption, both traditional and nontraditional. They Chose Me! runs from April 5th-April 21st.

Carousels: Art and History in Motion Closes Today

Complete with a working carousel that visitors can ride, the exhibition will present some of the finest and rarest artifacts to be found in the world of carousels. Comprised of more than 100 carousel figures, this exhibition will present an overview of the history of carousel carving companies and styles and evolving stages of development in the world.

Less than 125 working carousels are left in the United States, and the pastime of carving, designing, and riding carousels is dwindling. Join Dick Withycombe, master carver for A Carousel for Missoula, as he shares his experience in rebuilding a historic carousel with the community in Missoula, MT. Utilizing his master carving skills, Withycombe inform audiences on the art of his carving and the demands necessary to complete their historic carousel (which included over 100,000 hours of volunteer work from the community).

Join Duane and Carol Perron, founders of the International Museum of Carousel Art and curators for the museum’s current exhibit, Carousels: Art and History in Motion, as they share their story of developing their dream and how they built the International Museum of Carousel Art, a nonprofit organization founded in 1983. Following the presentation, the Perrons will offer a tour of the exhibit as they take visitors through the museum sharing insights on the pieces they affectionately have gathered over the past forty years.

Bounce House in the House!

Saturday, March 30 – Sunday, April 7, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Back by popular demand, the Bounce House is in the House during the week of Spring Break. For an additional $2 for 10 minutes of bounces, or a $6 wrist band for unlimited bounces, children can work out their sillies in the Jump Room Fun House.
