We are going to have a FREE Self Defense and Awareness Seminar for Homeschool Kids and Families. Whether you are home, out with the kids, traveling or shopping everyone should know what to look for, what to do, and how to avoid certain situations. Bring your entire Family and Friends too. The seminar will be fun, informative and empower you in ways you never expected. We’ll teach you and your children techniques that work and they’ll have fun doing it!

Winter Shakespeare Program for Actors Entering grades 7-12

During this intensive eight-week acting program designed exclusively for middle and high school students, accomplished actress and educator Julia Levo will create an exciting and positive environment in which actors will delve into a comprehensive exploration of scenes and monologues from one of Shakespeare’s greatest tragedies, Macbeth. Students will develop skills in character development, vocal technique, acting craft, and text analysis. Key scenes and monologues (using non-traditional casting) will be woven together and performed for an invited audience during the last class.

Teen Series: Graphic Design (Ages 13-17)

Graphic design is everywhere you look and is defined simply as visual communication. This workshop will teach the basics of graphic design by introducing you to the design process, the fundamental principles and elements of design, and basic graphic design programs. The course will conclude by showing you how to put all of that information together. You will learn, experience and create graphic design!

Teen Series: Animation Workshop: Poetry in Motion (Ages 13-17)

In this workshop, students will learn the basics of animation and Adobe After Effects to create a collaborative animation. This is an excellent start for any student who is interested in animation! Each student will animate part of a poem provided in the workshop. The student’s animations will be combined to create the full poem. The seminar is broken down into four parts; animation and After Effects basics, studio time, rendering time, and showing of the final animation! Basic computer skills are required.

Teen Series: Expressive Portrait Painting for Teens (Ages 13-17)

Portraits can do more than just show an image of a person, they can show their soul and energy. During this workshop, teen artists will complete an expressionist portrait of a person of their choosing. Using a reference photo(s), that students should bring, they will learn to paint a portrait that is representative of their subject physically and emotionally. Students will learn technical skills including proportions of the face, color mixing, and composition, as well as soft skills such as using color intuitively and painting expressively with emotion.

Teen Series: Mixed Media Dreamscape (Ages 13-17)

In this workshop students will examine the meaning of dreams and create a mixed media dreamscape. Instructor will introduce students to use of gel transferring techniques to print images onto canvas, layering these images with text collage and acrylic paint. The result will be personal, unique and visually impacting artwork! In this class, you’ll learn the basics of hand- and machine-sewing, fabric preparation, and sewing room safety. Participants will complete several project samples and a fun pillow using the skills they’ve learned. These workshops are a great way to get creative with your child. Each workshop will allow your child, with your assistance, to create their very own ceramic artwork. Take one, or take them all! Because the projects need to be glazed and fired, artwork will be available for pick up 2–3 weeks after the workshop. May - Thrown from the Wheel Even young ones can throw from the wheel. Our instructor will get your wheel piece started, and you and your child will complete it! (Must be at least 5 years old to participate in Thrown from the Wheel workshop.)
