The Classroom Beyond: Exploring the Earth

Join us for this special workshop designed for students who learn at home. Exploring the Earth is the first of three classes investigating the universe we live in! We'll be geologists for a day by examining our extensive rock and mineral collection and learning about the rock cycle. Then we'll take a trip inside the space shuttle to see a 360-degree projection of the world's tectonic plates! You'll leave with everything you need to grow your own rock candy crystals at home.
Cost is $15 for members and $20 for non-members (does not include cost of admission).

Get your hands dirty learning the field techniques, procedures, and ethics of archaeology and paleontology using the Western Science Center's Simulated Dig Site. This unique simulation allows participants to learn the basics of field work and put it to practice as they map, excavate, and research their own finds!
