EVCT is holding auditions for its fall musical, The Emperor's New Clothes. Auditions are open to kids age 8-18, and will consist of singing, dancing and reading from the script. No advanced preparation is necessary, come dressed for movement and bring a photo of yourself. Aug 23 and 24, 2010 - 5 pm each day for kids age 8-11, 7 pm each day for kids age 12-18. Workshop with Hurley resident artist and Art Shack artist Jason Maloney Sunday, July 18, 2010 (1:00 p.m.) Students K-8 are invited to Laguna Art Museum for a workshop in conjunction with the Museum's current exhibition Art Shack.

Guest curated by Greg Escalante, Art Shack is a group exhibition in which artists such as Don Ed Hardy, Shag, Paul Frank, and Mike Shine combine art and architecture. Explore surf shacks, tattoo huts, retro shanties and more, and immerse yourself in 25 different worlds created by the artists. Many shacks will be enterable, and some will include interactive components such as music and film.

Michele Belson from Midland will teach basic yoga poses specifically for children during this fun, educational and healthy program. Approximately 45 minutes. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

We'll be geologists for a day by examining our extensive rock and mineral collection and learning about the rock cycle. Then we'll take a trip inside the space shuttle to see a 360-degree projection of the world's tectonic plates! You'll leave with everything you need to grow your own rock candy crystals at home.
