Explore the coldest reaches of space as you re-live the adventures of favorite fictional space adventurers, and dream of what may be “out there” as you build a moon base, space station, space ship, or even go on a Galaxy Quest! Exhibit hours: Monday–Saturday 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 12 noon – 5:00 p.m. Included with regular admission; free for members. Sponsored by NCR.

Crime Lab Detectives

From the first clue of a shattered window, Crime Lab Detectives invites visitors to search for forensic clues and weigh the evidence to solve a true-to-life crime. Lift fingerprints, examine DNA, and document the scene of the crime as you sleuth your way through this CSI-style exhibition and learn what it takes to be a modern day detective. Included with regular admission; free for members. A traveling exhibit organized by the Arkansas Museum of Discovery. Sponsored by Vectren.

Annual Candlelight Tour

The Holiday Season is fast approaching. Step away from the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping to enjoy an unforgettable night at the Historic Daniel Boone Home and Boonesfield Village. The Annual Candlelight Tour will be held on Friday and Saturday December 4, 5, 11, and 12th, 2009 from 6pm to 9pm. The entire Daniel Boone Home and Boonesfield Village will be illuminated by thousands of candles lighting each building and walkway. Families and friends will be able to walk the meandering paths of time viewing decorations from the past and hearing the songs of holiday music fill the air.

Spirits From the Past...A Halloween Event

Visit the Historic Daniel Boone Home for a different kind of Halloween treat. Travel back to a time where not everything is as it appears. The Historic Daniel Boone Home and Boonesfield Village is hosting their annual Halloween Event on October 24, 2009 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Walk the lantern-lit paths to the Boone Home and hear stories of ghosts and goblins that will prickle your skin. Then proceed down to Boonesfield Village to hear hauntingly good music and tales of unexplained things in the night.

Pioneer Days

Pioneer Days is a pre 1840’s Folkways Festival for the whole family to enjoy. The Historic Daniel Boone Home and Boonesfield Village is transformed into a frontier encampment where sounds of music, artisans at work, children’s laughter, and gunfire fill the air. Pioneer Days will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2009 and Sunday, September 20, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be activities for the entire family to participate in. Children will be able to join in on tomahawk throwing, sac races, graces, tug of war, and other period games.
