The 1812 Fair and Reenactment

10:00 AM – 5:00 PM The 1812 Fair and Reenactment All ages, $3/person, $10/car. In 1814, war reached the shores of Southern Maryland. At the mouth of St. Leonard Creek, on property that is now part of JPPM, Maryland’s largest naval engagement occurred. This living history event puts you in the middle of life in Southern Maryland during the early 1800s. Event features tactical demonstrations and reenactments, camp life, live entertainment, crafts, music and hands-on activities. (Food and beverage available for an additional fee: cash only).

Science Saturday: Microscopes

Explore the unseen! Learn to use microscopes and create your own slides. You'll examine fur from a polar bear, the mane of a lion, skin from a python, and even your own spit! Great for ages 8-14 but all are welcome (under 12 yrs must be accompanied by an adult). Non-members: Free with Museum admission, Members: $3 Space is limited, call to register: 815-895-9777

EduStar Academy presents "Little Shop of Horrors"

EduStar is proud to present "Little Shop of Horrors". This is the 6 week summer camp's culminating activity where kids are involved in intense music, dance, and drama classes. Classes are held Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 3:30 p.m. Our 17 students average in age 12 to 17 and are anxious to perform, thus demonstrating the skills acquired in their summer camp experience. Cost: $10 general admission & $7 for children 12 and under.

All about Water Fun!

Bring your bathing suit and a towel….we’re going to run through the sprinkler if the weather’s hot and sunny! If not, plan on some water table fun and games. Sidewalk chalk could be in the mix, along with bubble wrap hopscotch!
