Pond Explorers Sunday, June 21 – 1:00-3:00pm $5 per person Join us as we explore the ponds with nets! We’ll collect fish, macro-invertebrates, amphibians, and anything else we find in some buckets, for up-close study. Wear boots and plan on getting a little wet and muddy! Register early!

PRO SERIES: Small Mammals Saturday, June 20 – 1:00-4:00pm $20 Learn from the experts. Join Dr. Howard Whidden, professor at East Stroudsburg University, for a workshop on the identification of Pennsylvania’s mammals, including bats, mice, and shrews. Use live mammals, prepared specimens, and skulls to learn the key characteristics used for identification.

Bridge the Gap Kayak Paddle Saturday, June 20 – 10:00am-12:00pm Free Come join us for a free kayak paddle on our Pickerel Pond. Beginners are welcome—we will teach you everything you need to know! Dress appropriately—you may get wet. Spaces are limited; call to reserve a kayak! Funding for this program provided by the William Penn Foundation.

Wild Edibles Walk Sunday, June 14 – 10:00am-12:00pm $5 Nature provides food for us in the form of many plants. Join us on a hike focused on wild edibles. No collecting will be done within the Park.

Bridge the Gap: Day Paddle Saturday, June 13 – 9:00am-3:00pm Free Join us for this free paddle down the Delaware! Bring a lunch and a water bottle and dress for the weather. We will provide extra water and snacks. Choose between a canoe or kayak. Please register by 6/7 as space is limited. Call for details.

Do It Yourself Day Sunday, June 7 – 1:00-3:00pm $5 Join us for an afternoon of fun DIY projects! We’ll be making everything from candles and pinecone bird feeders, to homemade fire-starters.

Little Eco Explorers: Fish Saturday, June 6 – 1:00-3:00pm $5 per child It’s a new program for 3-6 year olds! Join us for a story, craft, and activity focusing on a particular critter.

Volunteer Day – National Trails Day Saturday, June 6 – 9:00am-12:00pm “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted” – Aesop Join us for a fun morning of trail work. Everyone is welcome and appreciated! Snacks provided.

Nature Adventure Camp at PEEC June 29 – August 21, 2015 PEEC has been running its nature camp since 1998. Our camp program includes day camp for children 3 to 16 years old and residential camp for children 10 to 16 years old. Campers will enjoy hiking, playing games, and exploring a national park under close supervision by expert camp staff. Lunch and transportation options are also available.
