Come on out and learn everything you need to know about herbs. Our experienced staff will be available to answer all your gardening questions as well as give you advice on how to grow and use herbs. If you are planning a garden this year, we can give you suggestions on making your garden a true success. Also on Sunday, May 2nd we begin our Mother's Day special! You can either bring your own container or purchase one from us. Select from our wide variety of plants to put in your container. Soil, fertilizer, and mulch are free! At 5 PM. we will offer all moms, grandmoms, children, etc.

Arbor Day Weekend

Come visit our beautiful 530 acre working farm. This weekend if you visit you can take a free self-guided walk along our scenic nature trail. Visit and feed our farm animals. Bring a bag lunch and enjoy our picnic site that overlooks a pond! Our greenhouses are open. Check out all our herb and vegetable plants. We will be happy to assist you with any gardening questions you may have! No admission fees; just pay for what you purchase.

Basic Yogo for Kids

Michele Belson, children’s yoga instructor from Midland, will teach basic yoga poses specifically for children during this fun, educational and healthy program.

2 sessions: 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Approximately 45 minutes for each session.

With regular paid admission. MMCM members are free.

YMCA Storer Outdoor School

We are a full service outdoor school. We offer over 50 seperate classes on environmental education, cultural history, adventure learning, and science. We offer lodges and cabins along with wonderful meals. We have 3 day camps, 5 day camps, and also offer weekend programs. Contact Tom Shook at Storer for more information. Test-Drive the College Experience

Featured speakers will be Renee Vachon Danho, Dean of Professional and Continuing Studies at Dean College and Paul Hemphill, college admissions counselor from PreCollege Prep. “Applying to a college can be a daunting experience,” said Dean Danho.

Summer Arts Mini Fest - Dance and Theatre

Expanded program this year! Two week residential camp for teens aged 15-19 years old. Dean College Summer Arts Mini-Fest program is a unique opportunity to gain college-level experience in dance and theatre. Learn news skills in dance, performance, juggling, stage combat, and script interpretation in a hands-on environment. Work with accomplished professionals and make connections you can turn to in the future. Make lasting friendships with other students with similar interests from surrounding areas. This program includes field trips to area theaters and cultural attractions.

Home School Day at Cochran Mill Nature Center

For: Home schooled children in grades pre-k through 8th. Time: 10:30am - 11:30am When: April 19th, 2010 Cost: $5 per participant. Cash or check only. April’s topic will be Backyard Habitats. Find out what animals need to live and what you can do to help wildlife. Learning games will be played. If time permits we will also make a pinecone birdfeeder. The program will start precisely at 10:30am so please plan to arrive early to pay admissions and find a seat. Once the doors are closed you will not be allowed admission into the program.
