The Bridge Academy

Bridge Academy is a homeschool co-op in the Chester area offering academically strong, Christ centered courses for students in the 1st through 12th grades. Core classes and a variety of electives including photography, creative movement, Latin, worship band, culinary arts, speech, and art are offered. In addition to academics, Bridge Academy offers opportunities to serve in community based missions as well as many social activities, both for students and families.

KINDRED Homeschool Collective

KINDRED Homeschool Collective (KHC) is a Christian, inclusive homeschool co-op organized to provide supplemental educational support and group activities for children grades Pre-K-12. It is intended to complement the home educator’s curriculum with elective classes as well as core classes to enhance at home studies. KINDRED Homeschool Collective (KHC) is not a school and is not meant to be the sole source of your child’s education. Each homeschool parent is responsible for ensuring that their individual homeschool complies with the laws of the State of Virginia.

Friends Learning Together (FLT)

Friends Learning Together (FLT) is a group of Christian homeschooling families seeking to provide families with opportunities to learn, play, and grow together as friends and as children of God. FLT offers academic classes and social activities for families with children in preschool-middle school. FLT meets on Mondays for class at Christian Fellowship Church. On Wednesday afternoons FLT meets for recess (optional) and two Fridays per month for field trips (optional). Kindergarten-5th grade classes include science, history, geography and public speaking.

Boots and Roots at River Farm

Boots and Roots at River Farm meets Mondays and Fridays 9-12 pm. The program creates the opportunity for children, aged four through six, to engage with Virginia’s rich local flora and fauna. This three-hour, all-outdoor program combines active exploration of the natural world with literature, literacy, science, music, art, and Biblical content. The “delight-driven” emergent curriculum offers social, artistic, academic, relational, spiritual, and physical learning, based both on teacher-initiated and child-initiated goals and activities.

Alexandria Homeschool Cooperative

The Alexandria Cooperative Kindergarten is for homeschooling families who want time for play and exploration with other children. The co-op is currently for kindergarten age children, but will grow into a mixed age group over time. The group will meet 2-3 times weekly for music and art classes, field trips to local areas of interest and social learning time.
