PREREGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. REGISTRATION FOR THIS PROGRAM CLOSES JANUARY 12, 2011. Are you an explorer, a geographer, an astronomer or a doctor? With these careers in mind identify which inventions in the Science in Motion gallery will be most useful to you! Take a tour of the solar system in the planetarium show “Oasis in Space”. This show examines the constructive and destructive processes of the Earth from space. The lab will examine an Earth-Moon model and reinforce why the Moon has phases and where to locate the Moon in the night sky.

The Annual Doll Exhibition

The Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History is proud to present the Annual Doll Exhibition. A favorite of many in the CSRA and surrounding areas, the exhibition displays any and all kinds of dolls from various collectors in the area. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and military, and $2 for children. Exhibition can be viewed during normal museum hours.

Christmas in the Valley

Christmas is a very old holiday with even more ancient roots. Come celebrate the holidays with some old-time fun and a trip back in time. See how German-American farm families in 19th century Schaumburg celebrated Christmas with traditional foods, simple home-made gifts and a continuation of their daily farm chores. The day will include refreshments, holiday treats, cookie decorating and craft activities. Admission is $2/person; $8/family of six or fewer (additional members $2 each, children three and under are free)

Manatee Celebration Day 2011

The City of Tarpon Springs presents the Second Annual Manatee Celebration Day on January 22 from 10 am to 4 pm. A full day of educational and fun activities will take place in the Heritage Museum and surrounding Craig Park, the winter home of a large number of manatees in Spring Bayou.
