April 19 . 7:30 PM . $5 Members . $8 Students/Seniors . $10 Non-members Buck Catlin, 93, is a Fullerton treasure. The Muck has asked him to share his life journey with the community. Buck swabbed decks as a sailor in 1930′s Long Beach; he attended the US Naval Academy in the 40′s; and he was a submarine commander in Pearl Harbor during World War II. In 1982, he began a 13-year stint on the Fullerton City Council.

RagFest - Ragtime Festival

RagFest Sunday . April 15 . 12-6 PM . FREE After 11 festivals from 2000 to 2010, RagFest – Orange County’s annual ragtime music festival – comes to the Muck. Audiences will be able to see and hear dance bands (with plenty of dance space available), such as the Heliotrope Ragtime Orchestra and the Sedalia Ragtime Orchestra, as well as such headline acts as The Albany Nightboat Ragtimers and Brad Kay & Those Syncopating Songbirds. Suggested Donation Celebrated photographer Don Normark will be exhibited at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center beginning Thursday, April 12 with an opening reception at 6:30 p.m. A special discussion, led by curator Matt Leslie and Don Normark, will explore the featured selections from Normark’s three most famous bodies of work. Normark is most widely known for his documentation of Chavez Ravine, what is now the location of Dodger Stadium.

The Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum (MMCM) has been invited to host a remote location for the Covenant Kids Foundation Telethon, with TV5 personalities interviewing kids and families who have benefited from the Foundation. $1.00 of each MMCM general admission collected between noon and 6:00 pm will be donated to the Foundation. We are extending our hours to the public on Friday, June 22, 2012, and we have scores of fun planned for YOU! Take advantage of the aMazing Soccer Game, and then test your agility in a tricky obstacle course. Cool off at the water table and build a boat, or search for soccer stuff in our dig-it tub. Leave your cleats at the door….no flags during play.
