This camp is a fun exploration of books and stories that center around animals, specifically dogs and cats. Campers will read popular tales such as If You Give a Dog a Donut, Pete the Cat, as well as other student choice selections. Once the story has been read the students are guided in bringing the characters, locations, and environments to life. On the last day of camp parents are invited to watch as these young actors share a song and a few of their creative dramatics experiences. Ages 6-9. www.cytdenver.org

Broadways Best Summer Camp

Broadway’s Best is a revue featuring scenes and songs from popular Broadway shows such as Peter Pan, Annie, Wicked, and Shrek. Campers will spend two weeks learning choreography, memorizing lines, and preparing songs. At the end of the camp friends and family will be invited to attend the show! Ages 6-18. www.cytdenver.org

Tales Folks Tell – Folktales from Around the World Summer Camp

Every country has stories that are unique to their culture and that have been passed down through the generations. This camp is a chance to read and recreate stories from Japan, England, Germany, and many other countries. At the end of camp, friends and family will be invited to see these stories and a song brought to life onstage! Different stories will be chosen wherever this camp is offered. Shel Silverstein and Jack Prelutsky are the authors of much well-loved and familiar children’s poetry. Favorites like The New Kid on the Block, Be Glad Your Nose is on Your Face, The Boa Constrictor and Hug of War, will be read, memorized and staged.
