Students who have finished grades 6-9 will have the opportunity to experience the exciting world of flight by building and flying a variety of paper and Styrofoam gliders as they progress to a large balsa and hardwood high performance hand-launch glider. Students will also have an opportunity to fly in a Piper PA-28 Warrior aircraft as part of the camp. Campers will learn about the steps involved in becoming a pilot, hear personal stories from a World War II pilot, and take a field trip to the Wright Patterson Air Force Base Aero Club where they will have the opportunity to climb into and learn about the controls of a civilian aircraft.
