GUITAR: The Instrument that Rocked the World, Jun 14 – Nov. 30, 2013 GUITAR: The Instrument That Rocked The World” is a Touring Exhibition of The National GUITAR Museum that offers attendees an entertaining, engaging, and hands-on experience with one of the most important cultural icons in history—the guitar. Sponsored by Chesbro Music, the exhibition is comprised of three elements: the science of sound; the evolution, engineering, and design of the guitar; and its cultural impact. Featured items include the world’s largest guitar (43.5ft long x 16 ft wide), the world’s oldest electric guitar, an autographed guitar from Chuck Barry, Muddy Waters’ Guild Thunderbird S-200 electric guitar(circa 1966), and a Harmony Stratotone, formerly owned by Carl Perkins (circa 1953).
