Kids, make great music and great friends at Community Music Center this summer! Camp CMC, a weeklong summer camp, offers kids the chance to play with other musicians and have fun together. Activities alternate between chamber group, ensemble, theory and musicianship classes. Students will be grouped in ensembles by instrument and level. Campers will also participate in activities designed to develop general musicianship skills, such as playing percussion instruments, singing, and rhythmic movement. Camp CMC players will share their work in a performance at the end of the week. Ages: 9-14 Instruments: All. Styles of music studied: Classical, Latin, jazz, other Camp size: A maximum of 25 students working in large and small ensembles Location, Day and Time: Mission District Branch, Monday-Friday, June 16-20, 2014, from 9am-3pm Instructors: Chus Alonso, Director; Tregar Otton, Jennifer Peringer, Martha Rodriguez-Salazar, and others TBA Application: Final deadline is May 31, 2014, but we recommend applying early to ensure placement.
