Free Red Cross Youth Preparedness Presentations

The Red Cross is offering FREE youth disaster preparedness presentations for elementary-aged students in your area! Students will receive a fun emergency preparedness item and an age appropriate presentation to help teach them how to stay safe during a disaster. The Red Cross Youth Preparedness presentations, for students in grades K-5 (ages 5-11), are 30- to 60-minute classroom-based presentations that teach students to: • Identify the best ways to stay safe during emergencies that can occur in their communities. • Identify the best ways to prevent and stay safe during a home fire. • Use coping skills to help manage stress during emergencies and in everyday situations. • Gain confidence in their abilities to be prepared for emergencies through hands-on activities. • Use their knowledge to act as advocates for emergency preparedness in their homes and communities. • Discuss the role science plays in emergency preparedness. Our CEC Everest Point Homeschool Academy locations offer an amazing TUITION-FREE enrichment opportunity for homeschool families. We recognize that the families we serve are the primary educators, and we partner with them to create the best educational experience possible for their students. Our highly-qualified staff members are dedicated to providing students with a variety of engaging and interesting classes to choose from, with hands-on instruction to enhance the learning process. Students ranging from grades K-12 (location-based) can attend academic classes (math, science, history, etc.) and elective classes (cooking, music, physical education, etc.) one day per week at a CEC Everest Point Homeschool Academy location. Of course, this is just a general description of the types of classes we offer and we encourage you to review the Class Catalogs for each of our locations to see what is available for your student. 10th-12th students can take college courses through our accredited college partners as well as earn career credentials in our Certifications Labs while they are still in high school. This is also a TUITION-FREE opportunity, with no fees or book costs.

Che (Colorado Homeschool Enrichment)

Che or Colorado Homeschool Enrichment provides free enrichment opportunities that are funded by the public education system to homeschool and private school families in CO. This resource offers adventure leadership classes in the Colorado Springs area where students can learn technical skills such as climbing, canyoneering, ice climbing and much more. Che also has opportunities for families looking to join or even create other types of enrichment classes.

Credo Academy

A group of Christian homeschool families committed to homeschooling their young people through high school. Parents are actively involved in their child’s education at home and at Credo through volunteering. Teachers accomplished in their field, teaching from their educational strengths, professional experience, and dedicated passion. An enrichment program designed to provide parents the ability to select particular courses to supplement a student’s education already being done in the home, without compromising their Christian worldview. Provide classes that may be difficult to do at home or are more conducive to group classes. Offer a transition for students to be accountable to an outside adult regarding academic expectations and deadlines. Classes are held Thursdays 8:30 AM - 5 PM. Starting fall of 2021, we will meet at Arapahoe Road Baptist Church in Centennial.
