About our Clinician:
Originally from Cambridge, England, organist Thomas Joyce has spent most of his life living in the United States. He began taking organ lessons as a chorister at the National Cathedral in Washington D.C, and continued his musical training through high school at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, Michigan. Thomas earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the Conservatory of Music at Oberlin College and his Master of Music degree from the School of Music/Institute of Sacred Music at Yale University. This past June, he completed his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in organ at the University of Washington. His dissertation is a history of organ transcription and includes his own arrangement of Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings.
Thomas has served a number of prominent churches throughout the United States as an organist and choirmaster. He is presently the Assistant Organist and Director of the Boys and Girls Choir at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral in Seattle.
