This interactive community workshop will help parents and educators understand firsthand the challenges experienced by students with dyslexia. Simulated exercises will put participants into the classroom and show what it feels like to experience the pressures of school for a student with decoding and spelling weaknesses. And an in-depth exploration of this common learning disability will cover early warning signs and characteristics, information on assessment and diagnosis, and strategies for effective remediation and accommodation.
