At St. Luke’s PAA learning the skills for the stage start at 3 years of age. Our Summer Camp is filled to the gills with acting and stage work basic skills that any young performer needs to know and because we do it with the help of our favorite books and songs – it is more fun than you can possibly imagine! Every day looks something like this:
9:30 – Check in and head to your class with your teacher
9:40 – 10:15 – Play name games and warm up games to get your mind and body ready for learning and rehearsal
10:15 – 10:30 – Learn an actor’s tool such as, “What is a scene?” or Parts of the Stage
10:30 – 11:00 – Read and act out your story for the day. This is also called “Learning the script”.
11:00 – 11:30 – Learn the song for the day and the choreography to go with it.
11:30 – 11:45 – Snack Break
11:45 – 12:15 – Tech Time! – This is when you build or create something to help you in your performance of the story and song
12:15 – 12:30 – Review the story, song and say goodbye.
At the end of your week you will perform in a Shareformance for your parents and friends. You and your classmates will select your favorite song and story to perform as well as show them some of the new things you have learned.
