Family Engineering is part of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (S.T.E.M.) focus, and is an informal, educational program that gives parents and children an opportunity to work and learn together. Hands-on activities that use easy-to-find, inexpensive materials let families explore the ways in which engineering plays a role in daily life.
Elementary pre-service teachers from Central Michigan University will create engineering learning centers called openers where students and their parents can explore engineering in a fun, engaging, and hands-on manner. We will then do some engineering challenges which are more in-depth activities. Supplies provided by the Gougeon Employees Foundation.
Recommended for children grades 3-6. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Refreshment provided.
