This fall, Space Center Houston is offering a variety of 3-day, age-appropriate, inspiring Space Center University experiences with safety top of mind. This is one way, in the wake of COVID-19, we aim to continue inspiring all generations through the wonders of space exploration while maintaining the highest level of safety for our guests, crew members and the community.
Our Space Center University Clean Room experience was inspired by NASA clean room procedures to educate our future engineers in an immersive way while also maintaining health and safety. Additionally, class sizes will be limited this summer, to allow everyone to follow social distancing and sanitation practices.
NASA is a leader in crew safety and clean room procedures to ensure that when we explore, we keep other worlds pristine and uncontaminated. Clean rooms are an industry standard for environmental control and contamination of critical aerospace hardware.
The experience engages children in high-fidelity clean room safety procedures and immerses students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) activities. Participants engage in innovative robotics challenges, rocket launches, heat shield testing and other interactive STEM experiences and explore all that Space Center Houston has to offer!
