Life's Biggest Lesson:
It's Not What Happens That Matters, It's How You Deal With It!

Do bad things happen to you? Do they happen to your child?

You betcha!

NOBODY gets to avoid bad things...no matter HOW hard we focus on staying positive and trying to attract good things into our lives.
And you know what?

That's a very VERY good thing!

Crazy, right?

So here's the deal, have you ever heard the old saying, "It's not what happens to you that matters, it's how you deal with it!"

Think about it, bad things really do happen to us all. Life gets in our way, rain falls, bad days happen. They just do.

So what do we do about them?

Complain to everyone we meet?

How has that been working for you so far? Gotten you anywhere?

How has that worked for your son...or your daughter? Did the complaining help?

You betcha! Yup, it helped make you feel better....

IN THE MOMENT ONLY!

But then what? Do you stay STUCK?

Why would you do that to yourself? Why would you encourage that for your child?

Of course you wouldn't!

As a parent, your role is to help your child right? So what's your natural instinct when things go wrong for your child?

You try to fix them right?

Do you do that for yourself too?

You see, the VERY BEST way we will ever teach our children is by example, and that means WE have to be the example. We are their 'Gods'! True, until they reach puberty, they adore us! They want to be us! They watch every single thing we do and mimic us!

Take a moment, think about it. Am I not right here?

Of course I am! And YOU know it!

So what do you do when something really bad happens to you? Let's say you got in a car accident...do you just curse and swear and do the whole, "whoa is me" thing?

Or do you get yourself back up, dust yourself off and get right back out there, back on the road and try again?

Oh trust me, I know how bad life can get!

I've been shunned, I've been hurt, I've been hated, I've been sent away...

I've even been in a COMA!

And guess what?

That's right, I had my little pity moment...and then...

I got right back up and dusted myself off and tried even harder, got right back on that road and made a stand!

Isn't that what you want for your child? For yourself?

To have the bad times, help you to grow and become even stronger?

How do we do that? By being open to the fact that everything that happens in our life is a possible lesson filled with rewards so great I could never give them enough credit in this tiny, little article, but I trust you know what I mean!

And there are tools that can help!

Things like "Soul Letters". Things like "Vision Boards". Things like, oh I don't know...FRIENDS and FAMILY!

Open yourself up, show your child how to open themselves up to learning how to get "Unstuck" in their lives!

This is something that is so important to help us grow and move on from the horrible pain in our lives that I joined forces with my friend, John Seeley M.A. and together we put together a whole program on helping kids and teens get "Unstuck!"

Here's a short video you might enjoy where we talk about this. (Sorry, the sound was not great that day, very windy!)

If I can share with you my biggest tip on helping you or your child to get "Unstuck" it would be to really think long and hard about that old saying, "It's not what happens to you that matters, it's how you deal with it!"

Talk to your child...
AND... LISTEN!

Here's to you and your child's success with love,
