The premise of this group is community, compassion and support. No one is excluded because of schooling style, belief system, family style or age. All ages are welcome and encouraged, as we feel children learn from everyone, not just from their age group. The key here is that *all persons* are welcome. We would like to see this group become a place for understanding each other and fostering peace, community and collaboration between all homeschooling families (regardless of schooling style, faith system and so on). Our goal is to help support you in your path, no matter what it may be. This is a secular group.

MIND communicates mainly through our Yahoo Group where individual members are welcomed and encouraged to post successes and challenges, messages, links or files as well as activities, field trips or fairs/co-ops you would like to host or sponsor. Members are also invited to post "FS" items as well as "OT" discussions. Because the internet is not limited by geography, neither is MIND. Co-ops, fairs and bee locations will also be decided by the parent who has "taken the reigns", as will all requirements and "rules of engagement" for each particular activity. We function as independent homeschooling families and as such, have less organization than many and no board to answer to. MIND's primary goal is to be open-minded and eager to learn from a diverse group of members. We are neither denominationally/religiously opposed to or supportive of any particular doctrines and do not promote any particular type of schooling.
