Description: Walk in the Park Unschooling Group is a compassionate relaxed homeschooling/unschooling parent group and co-op. We meet every other Tuesday for meetings and group activities.
Requirements: There are no specific requirements except that intentional harm to anyone or anything is not tolerated.

Description: We are individual families who homeschool our children. AFC stands for All for Christ. We intend to train our children to be leaders, and not to settle for mediocre! The purpose of our group is to have recreation, field trips, holiday parties, to make special crafts, and to build friendships with Christ at the center! We have at least two get togethers a month. Plus, many other outings you can join in on if you choose! We are a Christian support group for Christian families!
Requirements: We only require that you are a born again Christian, to keep the cohesiveness of our group!

Description: We are a small group of women who all have a child with Down Syndrome. We meet together every three months. Twice a year in each others homes with our children and twice a year we have a mom's night out where we meet at a restaurant. We are here to support one another and share information we have gotten from having a child with Down Syndrome.
Requirements: There are no requirements at this time.
Benefits: We have books and other information on Down Syndrome and teaching the child with Down Syndrome available.

Requirements: MAHN values diversity and requests participants be considerate to all people and faiths. Our common bond is homeschooling.
Benefits: Most of our meetings are social in nature, although members are encouraged to share their skills through classes, activities, and organized field trips.

Description: This is a support group for homeschoolers affiliated with McConnell AFB. We usually have several field trips a month, a monthly meeting, and periodic playgroups.
Requirements: We request that you be affiliated with the base, or some how be affiliated with another branch of the military (reserves, recruiter, etc.). No one is required to attend any event, or to use any particular curriculum- we welcome everyone in our military "family".
Benefits: Great support from other people who, unlike civilians, realize the difficulties of military homeschooling.

Description: Midwest Parent Educators, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing resources, support and encouragement to home schooling families in the Kansas City and surrounding areas. As of December 2009, MPE had over 1100 member families. In an attempt to restore the warmth and friendliness of a small group, the formation of cluster groups was initiated in the fall of 1990. These groups are, in essence, small support groups within the larger structure of MPE. Cluster group members plan field trips and other group activities; these activities provide opportunities for both parents and children to build relationships.
Requirements: No requirements apart from an interest in or currently homeschooling
Benefits: Membership in MPE includes a subscription to the newsletter, The Parent Educator, and access to events, functions, and cluster groups. Other benefits include: Informational support group meetings, $20 discount on HSLDA membership, Free access to MPE Resource Library, Admission to annual MPE Conference, High school graduation ceremony (must meet certain criteria - call MPE office), Access to college scholarship file, and Annual used curriculum sale.

Description: We typically meet on Wednesdays and alternate mornings and evenings. Bowling is on Tuesdays, Roots and Shoots on Saturdays, and Mom's Nights vary by month. WIHS has 82 families, about 20 of which are very active and our group includes children from birth to age 17. We are a relaxed group and mainly focus on social functions.
Requirements: There are not requirements for membership. We are an inclusive group and welcome people of all faiths, ages, homeschooling approaches, creeds, and nationalities. We have no group dues and no statements to sign.
