| Baha'i Homeschoolers |
| Geographic Area Serving: Worldwide |
| Description: The Bahá’í Homeschooling list is a support group for homeschoolers (or those thinking about doing so) who wish to educate our children using the guiding principles of the Bahá’í Faith, and for people wanting to learn about what that means. All discussions assume that the members of the list have, or are willing to, familiarize themselves with the basic teachings and tenets of the Bahá’í Faith, and are working under the belief that the Sacred Scriptures of the central figures of our Faith are the revealed Word of God, and are therefore infallible.
This is an open list, so not all members must be Bahá’ís. However, this is neither a forum for theological debate, nor to debate the verity and efficacy of homeschooling. It is our goal to achieve a spirit of sharing, kindness and loving support. If you need more information about the Bahá’í Faith, please feel free to ask questions. Also, be sure to check the "Links" feature on the menu bar on the left side of the homepage for websites that can also answer your questions.

| GIFTSNC, Inc |
| Geographic Area Serving: Worldwide |
| Description: GIFTSNC is a special place for parents who homeschool one or more children with physical, developmental, medical, communication or learning challenges. GIFTSNC is the place to discuss and exchange ideas regarding: curriculum choices and modifications, medical and therapy issues, providing social opportunities and so much more. GIFTSNC is a place where we can support each other as we work to meet the daily challenges of rearing, guiding and teaching all our children. A brief, family bio is required and will be requested on all pending memberships. This bio will also be used as an introduction to the group. ***FYI***: We started as a North Carolina specific group and are still predominantly NC residents which means that we have some communication that is specific to NC or areas within NC. Since we are a large group, I encourage smaller groups of members to meet for parent meetings, field trips, etc. These small group communications are also encouraged on the larger GIFTSNC group. This allows for a continued small group feel allowing us to continue sharing and encouraging each other through this life journey! |
| Requirements: Must be home schooling (or seriously investigating this educational option) and have at least one child with special needs.
| Benefits: We offer an annual GIFTSNC Home Schooling Special Needs Conference and Exhibitor's Hall and have discussion available on our yahoogroup (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GIFTSNC/)

| Benefits: We have a database that you can access to see who is in your state to get together with. Feel free to introduce yourself and tell how long you have been homeschooling. Maybe list some problems? Encouragement? Questions? What do you do? What about socialization? What about playmates during the day? I know there are so many questions.
