Description: The Juneau Home Educators Association is a group of
Juneau homeschooling families which meets monthly to discuss issues
which are of interest to the group, and to encourage one another.
Requirements: There are no requirements for membership.
Benefits: Members of the group arrange several field trips
for the children each year. In the 2003/2004 year, there was a ride
on a school bus, a visit to the Dipac hatchery's saltwater aquarium,
a visit to the Post Office, a visit to the local Humane Society, and
other trips. We hope to have even more this year!

Description: Membership in SHG is open to any homeschool family
who would like to join. The current membership period runs from June
1, 2003 through May 31, 2004.The monthly parent meetings are an
important way we fulfill our purpose by providing an opportunity for
home schooling families to gather in fellowship and to learn and
encourage one another on the many facets of the home schooling way
of life.
Location: Christ Lutheran Church on Kenai Spur Hwy at the
"Y" in Soldotna
Date: Second Tuesday of the month September - April
Time: 1:00 - 2:30 PM
Meetings are for SHG Members, but prospective members are always
welcome to visit. Childcare provided.
Requirements: Established in 1999, Soldotna Homeschool Group
is a Christian support group of over 55 home schooling families
living in the Kenai/Soldotna area of Alaska State. While the
activities and publications of this group are inherently Christian
in nature, everyone, regardless of belief or creed, is welcome to
attend meetings and become a member.
Benefits: Membership includes, but is not limited to: email
newsletter, field trips, special teaching coops, teen activities,
Battle of the Books, Book-It, Scholastic Book Orders, Christmas
Celebration, and May Promotion Night.
