Description: Idaho Home Educators Association is a gathering place for all Idaho educators. IHEA is a statewide, not for profit, networking website. Our mission is to serve the diverse interests of home-based education in Idaho by providing a neutral place for the exchange of information and resources. IHEA is nonpartisan, nonsectarian, and nondiscriminating in its views of homeschooling and participation in its activities.

Idahomelearners - A Unique North Idaho Homeschool Group
Geographic Area Serving: Coeur d'Alene, Hayden, Post Falls, and surrounding areas of North Idaho
Description: We are a diverse group of homeschoolers who love spending time with our kids, and take joy in learning alongside them. We include and celebrate families across the spectrum of homeschooling. From September to May we have monthly homeschool activities (field trips, nature outings, fun educational days, physical activities, etc.) During the summer months we have more casual and impromptu activities (going to the beach, meeting at a park, etc.).
Requirements: No spammers - local homeschoolers only
Benefits: Our activities are fun and well-planned, and we homeschooling mothers enjoy sharing resources, questions, answers, inspiration, and support.

Description: This forum is for families enrolled in Idaho Distance Education Academy (I-DEA) or families who are considering enrolling with IDEA. The mission of this group is to provide resources and support to parents who have elected to educate their children in the home, but still be a part of a charter organization. This group is not for political debate, or for any sort of negative discussion. This group is for support, information, and ways to encourage IDEA families in their homeschooling efforts. This group is for all those who may have been a part of GreatIDEAs (which is now deleted), or for any new IDEA members.
Requirements: Join through the group site. Members of IDEA welcome, as well as prospective members.

S.I.H.I. - Southwest Idaho Homeschooling Information
Geographic Area Serving: Southwest Idaho - Treasure Valley/Boise/Nampa
Description: SIHI is designed as an informal support group in that we do not have any set meeting times. We actively communicate via our Yahoo group email list and plan outings, gatherings and field trips as interest and time allow. Smaller groups are welcome offshoots. All home educators (homeschool, unschool, school at home, ps at home etc;) of all faiths (Christian, Pagan, Athiest, LDS, etc;) are welcome and encouraged to join and share what works for them and what they believe. Weekly events are planned by various group members and more are always welcome.
Requirements: All members are required to post an introduction, to the list or to the moderator, within 2 weeks of joining the group. Everyone is encouraged to share their own perspectives on home education including methods and faith BUT expressing one's opinion of another's opinion is unacceptable. We are all required to show respect to our differences.
Benefits: The benefit of joining SIHI is that you will have an equal voice in the group. All members are all welcome on all announced outings and gatherings unless a cap must be placed on a group due to space availability and then a fcfs policy will be upheld. All members have access to and free use of the features available on the group site including a photo album, links page, files page and more (moderator reserves the right to reduce photo and file size to save space for all members and to delete an overtly offensive materials).
